Terms of Service

By creating an account or using the School Connect service (the "Service") you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. Who can use the Service

Schools, administrators, teachers, parents, and students may use the Service through accounts provisioned by the school. Individuals under the age of 13 must use the Service only with parental consent and through their school's provisioned account.

2. Your account

• You're responsible for keeping your password secret and for everything that happens on your account.
• Don't share your account with others. Each user gets their own.
• If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately at hello@schoolservice.in.

3. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

• Upload illegal, harmful, or rights-infringing content
• Harass, threaten, or impersonate other users
• Interfere with the Service's operation or attempt to access other tenants' data
• Use the Service to send unsolicited bulk messages
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code

4. Subscription and payment

• The Service is offered on a subscription basis. Pricing is shown on the Pricing page.
• Schools are billed monthly or annually based on the chosen plan.
• Plan changes take effect at the next billing cycle, except when downgrading mid-cycle, where pro-rata refund applies (see Refund Policy).
• Failure to pay may result in suspension of the account.

5. Data ownership

You own your data. The school is the data controller for all school-level information (students, teachers, classes, attendance, fees, etc.). We are a processor acting on the school's instructions. You can export your data at any time and request deletion through our Data Deletion process.

6. Service availability

We aim for 99.9% uptime but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance windows will be announced via email when possible.

7. Termination

• You can cancel anytime from the dashboard. Your data is kept for 90 days after cancellation in case you reactivate, then permanently deleted.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.

8. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. We'll email you about material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the change means you accept the new Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by applicable consumer protection laws of your country of residence. Disputes will first attempt to be resolved through good-faith negotiation by emailing hello@schoolservice.in.
